made him cry!

left to right: Andrew, Rachel, Me(Anjini),Alex,  Demae, Emily and Lori
an illustration of people from my fashion course that I did late at night after doing my homework. I feel so lucky to have so many good people in my class, I got really worried after watching an episode of project runway right before I came to Westminster where they all verbaly attack a guy and made him cry! by telling the judges that they failed because of his incompetence, I came to class slightly terrified... but when I got there every one was so nice and funny which really surprised me well there could be more to come but either way I have been enjoying it so far and even though we have a lot of work these people always make me laugh so hard and that makes uni so much more fun.

Acne says welcome

When I walked into Acne on a Saturday afternoon I was surprised to see a man playing on a yellow piano with old books stacked on top of it, which made me feel welcome and at ease. The interior on the ground floor is very simple and classy with dusty white walls and wooden floor and stairs plus a dim lighting that gets you into calm and relax mood.
Acne is divided in to four floor ground floor is menswear then up to women’s wear third is jeans and last it is a exhibition area. The floor space are not big areas, largest is the ground floor even that isn’t too big. The store is placed at the beginning of Dover Street which is not a very busy street.
Women’s wear has a small but cozy brightly light area with three very large paintings and a three piece mirror and also three fully dressed mannequins in A/W collections a lot of staff members for a tiny space area to help the customers choose and make them feel special by telling them how great they look or saying things like it really brings out your true shape and your eyes.
The trend for acne is dull colours such as dusty blue, warm night blue, navy green. They have minimalistic tailoring but still keep it quite interesting in shape. Not many prints were seen.  The styles I saw was military and some fur plus knitted jumpers for cold winters.
The prices ranges from £50 to approximately £2800, fur and leather is always more expensive. This is clearly for those who have a more sophisticated and calm aura. The ages of the customers are between 23 and35, this probably are people with good jobs.
In the end I think that this shop has a lovely atmosphere that the interior design and staff members contribute to, makes you want to stay for a longer time and you know you will be well welcome the next time you drop by for some shopping.

what style to pick?

Walking in to H&M I was sucked into this huge space with high ceilings dusty metal grey walls and bright white floors with dim lighting giving it a modern and pleasant feel to it. First thing I saw when I walked in was ten mannequins with their latest trend for the adult women this fall for different occasions having a strong green for the sophisticated H&M woman and sandy brown coats and jackets. Going further inside I saw colours that were used in Calvin Klein’s collection for spring 2011 white, black, grey, red ,blue on shelves against the wall making the red and blue sticking out
The store is divided into 3 floors ground floor has more sophisticated women’s wear for any time of the day and the top floor has menswear and teenage women’s wear whilst the bottom floor has lingerie, kids clothing and body products.
When you’re in the shop it is hard not to find something you want or need for a good price H&M is made for everyone man woman, old young, Goth prep it has every trend that is going on at the moment they have a leopard section for the animal lovers, colourful or non colourful print designs they also have the minimalistic cuts for those a bit shy or that just plain mature with milky white and deep black fabrics. Also knits to keep warm during winter. This store has good price for us poor people, it ranges between 4.99 and 69.99 £ and you can get a really trendy and nice outfits quite cheap only thing is that you won’t be the only one wearing it if you want to be unique.
The shop is placed on one of the busiest streets in London, Regent Street which is probably why it’s so massive in size so it can fit the entire league of hungry shoppers.
Whilst it is cheap shopping you can still pull of an expensive look from H&M. And if you can spot out the staff inside the ant swarmed shop they will always help you.
Over all the shop looks modern and sleek it is at the same price range as New look but on a different level over all. This store is well mannered in display, interior and staff which makes it a comfortable shopping on a less busy day.

Why?

went to tate with rachel to look at art and found this huge canvas with red paint, what suprised me was that there were two more, made me wonder of the purpose of the painting, why would someone paint three almost identical paintings? I'm still trying to figuring that out. the only thing I can think of is that it is fun going crazy on a canvas.
